It requires high pressure and special equipment, this is why tree care companies and arborists are hired to do such a thing. Many times it’s necessary to help more established, older trees.
If the roots in the top layer of the soil are getting their nutrients and the problem is deeper down, this is when deep root fertilization would come in handy.
