Properly Mulching Around Your Trees

Mulch can be a newly planted tree’s best pal in the world. It provides a wide array of benefits you may not be aware of. To begin with, it helps retain nutrients and water for your tree to feed on. It also acts almost like a shield when it comes to hot and cold weather.

What we do is add mulch to an area between 3-10 feet around the circumference of the tree. We’ll usually use wood chips and pile them 2-4 inches high. The final step is not to place the mulch directly next to the tree. There should be a nice circular arrangement.
